From the Sala...

A sala is an open aired pavillion used as a meeting place or a place to protect from the sun and rain. These are very common around Thailand, and are often used as a place of rest. Sala in Thai: ศาลา

Hello World

Saturday, September 1, 2007

I just wanted to let you know that I am alive and kickin, but I've had an extreme case of writers block recently! I don't know what's going on, but I'm sure I'll snap out of it soon.

In the meantime, it's now September (unbelievable!) and Wendy and I have been house/pet sitting for a friend of ours that had to unexpectedly go to the states. We'll be here for 3 weeks. She has a cocker spaniel, Roxy, and then we've got Moo, so it feels a bit like a zoo at times. But it's all good. Her house is the bomb, and it feels a bit like a mini vacation.

If you're wondering who the people in the photo are, let me tell you. My entire family (mom's side) just got together for a family reunion at the beach (Gulf Shores, AL). They chose AL because it was a central location between the Texas folks and the Virginia/Maryland folks. They had a blast! Of course they had great food, played games, laughed, and celebrated my Mom Mom and Pop Pop's 50th wedding anniversary! I love my family and hate that I couldn't be there! Next time for sure...
